Volunteering at AFDC

Northrop Grumman employees and their families help spruce up the center during VolunteerFest 2007.

Alzheimer's Family Day Center (AFDC) enjoys the involvement of many volunteers who share their talents in a variety of ways, including: playing the piano, assisting people with eating, helping prepare and distribute lunch, bringing in pets for pet therapy sessions, serving food at celebrations.

The operation of the Alzheimer's Family Day Center is enriched by each of our volunteers!  Volunteers may:

  • visit with participants
  • help with administrative tasks such bulk mailings
  • help participants enjoy lunch and activities

All volunteers are required to attend a 1 hour orientation session. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old to work directly with our participants. Contact AFDC's volunteer coordinator to find out how you can get started.

We also welcome service groups, faith communities, businesses, and corporations who are looking for service projects. We appreciate small groups of volunteers for special events and projects.

Now available for download:  volunteer application, parental permission form, photo permission form, TB screening form, pet therapy health requirements
