Education and Training These free classes are designed for those taking care of a loved with memory loss. Join us for this continuing series presented by Nancy Dezan and Sue Stone, dementia education specialists. Professional care providers are also welcome to attend. The process for diagnosis will be presented, as well as the importance of early diagnosis. February 27--Stages of Alzheimer’s Disease While each individual’s journey with Alzheimer’s disease is unique, there are common markers along the way. Learn what to expect as the disease progresses, and how to adapt to the changing needs of your loved one and family. March 5--Understanding Behaviors in Alzheimer’s disease Learn what might trigger challenging behaviors, and how you can effectively communicate with your loved one to minimize the effects of those behaviors. March 12--Community Resources for Caregivers The Washington metro area has a wealth of information and services for those caring for a loved one with dementia. Learn about support groups, home health care, residential care and much more at this class.
