For Community & Professionals With over 20 years of experience providing dementia-specific care, Alzheimer's Family Day Center (AFDC) has been able to sharpen caregiving skills and interventions to see what actually works to help people with an Alzheimer's-type illness. AFDC provides a place for students and professional caregivers in the community to practice their skills and receive coaching while they learn effective ways to assist, communicate with, and care for people with dementia. Our center offers periodic training in English and Spanish. AFDC also provides consulting services upon request for long-term care facilities and other professional groups serving older adults. Staff members are also available to speak to businesses, school groups, service organizations, and faith communities about Alzheimer's and caregiving. Take a look at our outreach programs to learn how your group might benefit. Volunteers help us provide the quality service our families cherish by sharing their time and talents. Find out how you can help!
