Are you a creative, energetic person who loves working with older adults?
Summary of the position: Utilize your professional management skills while making a difference in the lives of others. Alzheimer’s Family Day Center (AFDC), located in Fairfax, VA, is a unique not-for-profit adult day health program seeking a full-time Program Director. Open Monday through Friday, the day center provides therapeutic activity, assistance with personal care, individual and family counseling, and physical therapy to enhance the lives of those living with Alzheimer’s disease. The Program Director manages the day-to-day operations of the Center and is responsible for planning, implementing, supervising and evaluating all programs and activities. This individual hires and supervises the day center staff, and ensures that program services are in compliance with AFDC policies and state licensing requirements.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Gerontology, Social Work, Psychology or related field / or a Registered Nurse
- Four years experience working with older adults in long-term care
- Experience with those who have various forms of dementia
- Proven leadership and supervision experience
*Selected applicant will be required to pass a criminal background check prior to employment.
