Brooks Adams Research Study
Executive Summary
The purpose of the Research Study for Alzheimer's Family Day Center, conducted by Brooks Adams Research, was to gather data specific to product service and pricing in order to assist AFDC’s Board of Directors in strategic planning. The Research Study specifically pertained to how AFDC will grow in the future.
From Focus Groups and analysis we learned:
AFDC provides a quality service.
AFDC has a loyal clientele.
The current facility limits our ability to provide expanded programs and services.
From Best-in-Class Comparison we learned:
AFDC has a quality program, exceeding licensure standards.
To grow and strengthen and eventually move in to the highest best in class percentile, will require expansion of AFDC facilities and services, which in turn may require strategic partnerships.
From our Demographic Analysis, including Heat Map Analysis, we learned that if we are to expand, we should expand within close proximity of the current location. Heat maps were generated based on population density of 65+, population ages 55-64, income brackets of $50,000+, and proximity to other facilities and services from which AFDC draws.
Heat maps and demographic data help us to see where future growth may be. For example, it is clear that future growth in Fairfax County is moving west. We need to continue to watch and plan for that.
AFDC’s pricing is well positioned. Cost was not identified as prohibitive for using AFDC services. Participants are satisfied with the value for what is paid.
The overall results of the study are presented in the Research Findings Summary, and are supported by the details of the individual studies, undertaken over six months of research.
